Day 1 – Monday – Koala – kangaroo- wallaby- birds-flying fox-pademelon

Make your own way to Byron Bay Beachcomber.  Leave bags at reception. Meet your local guide at 9:15am at Byron Bay Beachcomber. 9:30am depart for your Wildlife Safari. On this day you will explore three different habitats, rainforest, eucalyptus forest and grassland in search for the wildlife who live there. You will see koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, birds we may also see pademelons, echidna, lizards, flying fox. There is some driving involved there will be a 35 min drive at the beginning a 50 min drive at the end and some shorter drives in-between.16:00 arrive back at your accommodation at Byron Beachcomber Resort.

Day 2 – Tuesday – World heritage rainforest and waterfalls

This morning enjoy locally sourced in your room, then meet out front of the hotel reception at 9:50 am where your local environmental scientist guide will take you to on a 45 minute drive to Nightcap National Park, where you will embark on the Minyon Falls Walk (4 km 2 hours). You will take a step back in time with us to when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The ancient rainforest in the Minyon Valley has a distinct ‘Jurassic Park’ feel. From the forest floor, the striking Minyon Falls appear to fall from the sky 100 metres above you, this is where you will enjoy your sandwich lunch and have a swim. After your walk you will be treated to local tea/coffee and the famous Byron Bay Cookies, before heading back to your accommodation in Byron Bay about 15:30.

Day 3 – Wednesday – Bird watching cruise – Aboriginal Bush Tucker

Today enjoy locally sourced in your room, then meet out front of the hotel reception at 9:15 am where your local will drive you to the Brunswick heads Boat Harbour for a bird watching cruise. As you glide down the majestic Brunswick River you will look for the abundant bird life that lives there including: white bellied sea eagle, osprey, Brahminy kite, pied oyster catchers, pelicans, crested tern, silts, kingfishers, to name but a few. At 12noon you will be transferred to Mullumbimby, where you can find some lunch in the large range of cafes. At 13:00 you will be transferred to the Maslen Arboretum, where Aunty Delta, a local Arakwal Bundjalung woman will take you on a bush tucker walk, you will discover what’s good to eat and what’s not. At 15:30 you will transferred back to your Byron Bay accommodation.

Day 4 – Thursday – Platypus Walk – Kayaking with Dolphins.

Meet out front of the hotel reception at 5:25 am where a local guide will take you to the special Platypus Place, you will walk along the 2km creek looking for these elusive enigmas of evolution. After your walk you guide will prepare a picnic breakfast for you before heading back to Byron, arriving back at your accommodation at 9:30am for a little snooze or to enjoy your morning on the beach. At 13:00 your guide will pick you up at the accommodation for your Kayaking with Dolphins Tour.

Day 5 – Friday – Byron Bay Free Day

Free day at leisure in Byron Bay

Check out of your accommodation at 10am, you can leave you luggage at reception, while you spend the day relaxing in Byron.

We can arrange a whale watching tour (June-Oct), or snorkeling tour for you on this day as an optional extra.
